BIBLE STUDY—Pastor Carissa is beginning a bible study, discussing Old and New Testament scriptures.  We will meet on Wednesday evenings (10/7, 14, 21, 28; 11/4, 18, 25. CHURCH BREAKFAST—We will be having a community breakfast on Saturday, October 10, 8:00-9:30 a.m. The menu will include pancakes, sausages, scrambled eggs, strawberries and beverages.   The meal is free, but donations will be collected to benefit local food pantries.

REV. TIM– On October 18 during the regular service we will be celebrating Rev. Tim’s ministry at our church.  Please mark your calendars and join us as we thank him for his long service by awarding him the title, Pastor Emeritus.  And, of course, there will be a splendid coffee hour reception in his honor!  Please continue to support him in his continuing ministry and to reach out to him with cards and notes.  His address is:  144 So. CHOIR—The Choir is looking for new members! If you would like to join the choir, we rehearse on Sunday mornings at 9:15. Come and help us praise God with music!

30th ANNUAL FESTIVAL OF LESSONS & CAROLS—It’s early to be thinking about Christmas, but mark your calendars! The annual Festival of Lessons & Carols is planned for December 13, 2026. More information will be available soon about rehearsals.  

PASTOR CARISSA—Pastor Carissa now has her own website: https://sites.google.com/view/pastor-carissa/home, currently under construction.  Her office hours are typically 10-2 on Wednesdays.

PRAYERS & CARDS—Index cards are available on Sunday mornings at each entrance. Please feel free to add names for prayers, whatever the reason.  If you would like to send cards to parishioners who are unable to attend church, there are lists of addresses on the table downstairs in Fellowship Hall. Please use our CONTACT link if you would like to submit prayer requests online or receive the list of those who might like to receive cards.

DISMAS FAMILY FARM –The second Wednesday of every month our church takes a meal to Dismas Family Farm, providing the main dish, a salad or vegetable, and a dessert.  If you would like to join us or contribute to a meal, please see Dick or Gail Pryce at church or call them at 508-886-4095.

FOOD PANTRY-As we enter the holiday season, and especially when benefits are being cut, please consider bringing a couple of non-perishable food items to the church each Sunday for the Rutland Food Pantry. 

COFFEE HOUR—Items and volunteers are needed for Coffee Hour.  Items can be store-bought or homemade.  They can be dropped off at the church kitchen anytime and left on the counter or in the freezer.  To volunteer to help out, please sign up on the sheet in Fellowship Hall.  Thanks—we love our Coffee Hour!

OPPORTUNITY FUND – The Opportunity Fund’s purpose is to provide financial assistance to individuals in Oakham or within the Oakham Congregational Church community for spiritual, personal or vocational advancement.   If you might benefit from this assistance, go to http://www.oakhamcongregational.net/opportunityapp for a copy of the application form.  The Opportunity Fund is funded from the net proceeds of the annual G.A.B.B.
